As you might expect, TBG and Andre 3000 are match made in heaven (audio)
Now I’m not the biggest fan of Outkast, but I do have a lot of respect for those guys. They somehow managed to make oddball rap popular and have always been one of the most original voices in hip-hop. But in terms of be out of my mind excited to hear new music from Andre 3000, it honestly just slipped under my radar because I wasn’t really looking for it. However since Tall Black Guy decided to add his own particular flavor to this soulful, jazzy piano-laced track, it definitely made me decide to go back and listen to the original. It’s a solid slice of singer/song writer soul, where Andre pours his heart over some out about his parents and does with as much conviction as any seasoned soul singer with some great emotional piano playing to boot. TBG decides to keep the track largely in tact, adding some tastefully placed half-time drums that follow the piano very closely, adding some great dynamics to great effect. Infusing the track with some added synths add some great musical layers to a pretty bare bones track and really just strengthened an already quality track. Once again making it, another Tall Black Guy Sure Shot!
