Brazilian boogie goodness (audio)
I’ve been searching for this track for awhile thanks to J. Rocc set on Boiler Room from a few years back (which is sadly unavailable). Now thanks to Mr. Bongo, an excellent reissue label out of The U.K., I now have this bad boy on 7″, my preferred single vinyl format. But what is it about this track that makes it so special? It could be that it’s an expertly arranged song; the vocal harmonies, the instrumentation, the unpredictable chorus breakdown and the dreamy bridge back into verse, it’s all of these elements combined that elevated beyond the average 80’s boogie track. Fans of boogie funk and Brazilian music should definitely check this out. Even if you’re not, you should still check it out, anyways.
