Another monster from one of the best hip-hop labels around right now, Street Corner Music (audio)
I’m really not trying to be a Street Corner Music cheerleader at the moment, but in all honesty, they’re the one label who consistently puts out attention-grabbing music. So when they stop doing that, I’ll stop posting their music.
Seige Monstracity is another addition to an already strong line-up of beat makers/producers but is doing a good job of making his music stand out. For one, rather than minute and a half beat sketches, his tracks feel like actual songs. LA Dodgers starts strong, wasting no time getting into things with it’s drums and piano combination. Later, some synth-y strings come in to give the song a bit more texture all before looping back around and starting all over again. It’s a pretty simple arrangement, but there are enough subtle change-ups so it never feels repetitive. Needless to say, if you’re a fan of Street Corner Music’s output thus far, this is pretty much an essential purchase.
Seige Monstracity is out now and is available over at SCM’s website!
