THE GRIND: Swarvy – Elderberry

Swarvy is back with his live take on beat music! (audio)

One of my favorite under-the-radar pick-ups from this year has to go to Swarvy’s Scotch EP. Just that mix of live instrumentation with programmed beats made for some of the freshest music I’ve heard all year. So I got super excited when I found out that more new music was coming out this year. If this mellow head-nodder is anything to go by, the results should be more of the same in a good way. Elderberry differentiates itself from the Scotch EP by sounding a lot more live; feeling like a good ol’ fashioned band jam (with 1000% less pointless noodling).
Elderberry is out now and is out on the Stones Throw associated label, Leaving Records!
