Stro Elliot shows of his production skills on this excellent, neck-breaking mix (audio/video)
While I’d definitely recommend watching the rest of the Boiler Room Street Corner Music event (with other highlights being House Shoes and 14KT from the same event), my personal favorite set of the bunch comes from Stro Elliot, the producer who gave you that amazing Marvin Gaye “slap” (as House Shoes puts it). There’s a lot of diversity in his style, going from soulful and laid-back, to straight up neck snappers (his classic Soul II Stro production makes an appearance here at the towards the end of the mix) that helps him standout amongst the very crowded genre of instrumental hip-hop. It’s just a shame that it’s so damn short. But hopefully House Shoes’s words ring true, as he states that Stro Elliot will have project coming out Street Corner music in the not too distant future.
