Dust Masta Hiss takes you a journey through the world of cinematic funk! (audio)
This was exactly what I needed today. Crates of Danger digs deep on the Blaxploitation funk (or “cinematic funk” as I like to call it) and gives you a wide variety of sounds and moods; big orchestral pieces, minimal mood pieces, uptempo, downtempo, and everything in-between, and it also proves that not all funk music has to have wah-wah scratch guitar or sounds like it should be used for sleazy seventies porn movie (both things I have absolutely nothing against, by the way). People who only know the Shaft soundtrack should definitely check this out (nothing against Shaft, either).
